Caring Changes staff & CSO’s all came together virtually to help bring awareness to Carers Week 2020.  The theme for this year was “Making Caring Visible”

Promotion displays were put in all 3 Wearside Recovery Hubs around Sunderland giving visitors and staff the opportunity to gain more awareness about carers and also what support is available.  The Caring Changes  facebook page was updated daily with lots of interesting facts and information on relevant support services both local and nationwide.

A request to hold a Zoom virtual Cuppa & Chat was granted to allow carers the opportunity to support one another,  discussing the theme and talking about how we were all managing through lock down/isolation of COVID 19 .

One member of staff shared a video of themselves on you tube describing their role, making the care that families provide to their Loved ones real and visible for all to see.  Staff also added their voice and pledge to the Carers Week Wall on the carers week website.

The week was celebrated well by all including carers making their role visible at home too by placing posters in their windows.  Photos that hold memories or have a meaning were also shared.
